Jessica Rules the Dark Side
Antanasia Dragomir, renamed Jessica Packwood by her adopted parents, is a down-to-earth farm girl with a talent for mathematics and a resolute disdain for all things supernatural. The last thing she wanted was to find out that her birth parents were vampires, and that her vampire betrothed has come to claim her. Lucius Vladescu is handsome, arrogant, and determined to make her accept her heritage and marry him – or risk reigniting the feud which has been going on between their clans for generations.

Beth: I’m writing the sequel to Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side. It picks up after the “mini sequel” that’s on my website, , and will tell.
FAZE: When and why did you begin writing? Beth: I began writing after college, only because I needed a job and heard about an opening for a speechwriter in a public relations office. Beth: As a speechwriter and journalist, I always wondered if I had a book in me. It was partially a challenge to myself. No wonder those tales have endured for generations! FZ: What are your current projects?
Beth: Practice every day, just like you would practice if you wanted to be a great violinist or athlete.

Seventeen-year-old Jessica, adopted and raised in Pennsylvania, learns that she is descended from a royal line of Romanian vampires and that she is betrothed to a vampire prince, who poses as a foreign exchange student while courting her. I enjoyed reading this book, but I think I have to agree with Einmyria on the fact that Lucius was a jerk who did not deserve Jessica’s love. She can do SO much better then him. Otherwise I disagree with what Einmyria wrote sorry, Einmyria. I really liked this book.
I found the dialogue between Jessica and Lucius real and at times extremely funny. I also liked how their relationship wasn’t perfect and when you thought it was going to work out, there was another twist. Lucius was a very interesting character. He was dark at times and other times he was very kind in his own way. Overall, a great book.
Thank you Lucius, I never would have come to a conclusion were it not for your douchebaggery. In short: I don’t like this book. I don’t like Lucius. Hey, why sugar coat it?!

But is Jess the crazy one for resisting the sexy Romanian young man who tries to swoon her off the bat? But how long can you push away a vampire without getting bitten? I absolutely loved this book. You get the greatest view of both Jessica and Lucius and why they do what they do. Jess through the general narration and Lucius through the letters he writes to his uncle in Romania.
Lucius is my ideal picture of a vampire, with glimpses of a human soul, but also the ability to be cold in a way that he can distance himself from all emotion and attachment. And the sex appeal… well that was dead-on. Jessica has flaws as a character and strengths as well. I liked watching her change throughout the course of the book into more of a regal vampire than American teenage girl.
This was my first book review I did on my blog! I really really want to read this! Sounds good!

Mihaela”s color. The queen who once ruled the Dragomirs looks like a splash of blood against the expanse of white, and yet she is as strong and substantial as the jagged Carpathian rocks that rise out of the lonely Romanian mountain where we always meet. And then Mihaela Dragomir does turn, her face obscured by the cloak.
And in her hands she holds an object, something she presses against her chest the way a nun would cradle a cross. But Mihaela is no humble, pious sister, and that thing. It is no holy relic. Lucius”s stake, which he used to destroy his uncle–and which he”d once nearly used to Thrashing, fighting off something that seemed to press against my chest, I struggled to sit up and opened my eyes to see firelight flickering against stone, and for a second I wasn”t sure where I was.
Gradually, though, my surroundings sank in. I was in Lucius”s home– our home.
